July 28th Wednesday -Sunday August 1st
with Caroline Coggins
Come away and soak into country NSW- it is in a place of silence we begin to hear.
Sometimes from sorrow, for no reason,
you sing. For no reason, you accept
the way of being lost, cutting loose from
all else and electing a world
where you go where you want to.
Arbitrary, sound comes, a reminder
that a steady center is holding
all else. If you listen, that sound
will tell where it is, and you
can slide your way past trouble.
Certain twisted monsters
always bar the path – but that’s when
you get going best, glad to be
lost, learning how real it is
here on the earth, again and again.
Discovering that we have a centre ‘holding’ is a such a relief from the constant struggle. Making friends with the twisted monster- there is really no other way through. Retreating opens the door to remember, inhabiting the body/mind quietly and with a slow respect- we practice at having a ‘centre’., and playing with the twisted monsters. And then by no effort of our own- we find the sweet centre.

This year we would like to deal with accommodation separately.
Accommodation for four people per cabin is available onsite. Four of these cabins cost $170 per night (ie $42.50 per person per night), and another four larger cabins cost $235 per night (ie.$58.75 per person per night). All have two single beds per room. If you already have a group with whom you would like to share a cabin please advise Helen as soon as possible which of these two choices you would like. Please note if you want a share a cabin with a particular group but have fewer than four people that you will need to meet the full cost of the cabin as the venue does not do pro rata.
Equally, if you want accommodation onsite please also contact Helen no later than 31 July 2021 so she can let the venue know. Helen will then facilitate full payment for accommodation for those staying on site. For those not staying on site please ensure to book early as the Lennox Head region can get busy at this time of year.
We will be in touch again soon with more information but if you have any questions in the meantime please don’t hesitate to come back to Helen or myself.
Registrations are open now until the retreat is at capacity (25 people)

If it is chariots or sandals,
I’ll take the sandals.
I like the high prow of the chariot,
The daredevil speed, the wind
A quick tune you can’t
But I want to go
A long way
And I want to follow
paths where wheels deadlock.
And I don’t want always
To be among gear and horses,
Blood, foam dust. I’d like
To wean myself from their strange allure.
The pilgrim sandals.
