Lake Ainsworth, Lennox Head
October 30, 31, November 1st 2020
with Caroline Coggins
Senior Iyengar yoga teacher Caroline Coggins is returning to Lennox Head for an immersive yoga weekend retreat from Friday, 30 October to Sunday, 1 November 2020. The retreat will combine meditation, pranayama and yogasana, offering students a holistic experience of yoga in a tranquil setting overlooking Lake Ainsworth – a large, natural tea tree lake just a few metres from Lennox Head beach.
This retreat offers the perfect antidote to a year that has been filled with uncertainty, requiring each of us to adapt to a new way of life in the face of a pandemic that caught most of us by surprise.
The retreat will be held at the Lake Ainsworth Sports and Recreational Centre where accommodation is available either on-site or nearby.
People wanting onsite accommodation will need to book early as there are only 16 spaces available in four cabins. Those wanting their own accommodation should book early as Lennox Head is a popular destination for visitors.
The venue is less than three hours’ drive from Brisbane and fifteen minutes’ drive from Ballina airport, with plenty of parking available. Transfers to and from Ballina airport are included in the retreat price.
The weekend program will cover three half days and include a group lunch as follows:

2.00 – 2.45pm Welcome and introductions
2.45 – 4.15pm Asana Class

If it is chariots or sandals,
I’ll take the sandals.
I like the high prow of the chariot,
The daredevil speed, the wind
A quick tune you can’t
But I want to go
A long way
And I want to follow
paths where wheels deadlock.
And I don’t want always
To be among gear and horses,
Blood, foam dust. I’d like
To wean myself from their strange allure.
The pilgrim sandals.
